Tribute & Message From The Family

Stefan Dominic Bonfiglio, 52 of Hyannis. Died on July 3, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 16, 1965 in Dorchester to Barbara (nee Matacunas) Bonfiglio and the late Dominic Bonfiglio.

He went to elementary school at Holy Family School, where he received all his sacraments and his Catholic education. He played basketball for the school team, leading them in scoring. He was a member of the 1984 graduating class of Rockland High School, where he played basketball and football. His talent for art and creativity, specifically drawing/sketching, manifested itself at this time.

While his art was never an outlet for him, this talent emerged in the guise of plastering. He was a prodigiously talented plasterer who plied his trade most of the time for the family business, Bonfiglio Plastering. He was known for being a very talented individual in all aspects of his life, with the ability to use his hands and his mind creatively in a myriad of ways.

Stefan was a natural in social settings, being friendly and quick witted. To all who knew him, he was an extrovert who thought nothing of walking amongst a group of strangers and within minutes, have that whole group laughing hysterically. He had the gift of "gab" and was unafraid to use it, much to the delight of those around him. He loved to watch and discuss any kind of sport, being a die-hard Boston fan. He loved to play golf and was an avid bowler.

He was the loving brother of Eugene Bonfiglio and his wife Andrea of Whitman, Paul Bonfiglio of Hyannis, Maria Bonfiglio of Abington, Janina Wright and her husband Glenn of Rockland, Peter Bonfiglio of Rockland, Joseph Bonfiglio and his wife Jennifer of Hanover and David Bonfiglio of Foxboro. Stefan leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Stefan's life on Thursday July 12, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday July 13, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Donations in Stefan's name can be made to Rockland Cares, 10 Daniel Teague Drive, Rockland, MA 02370.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Stefan and I were friends when we were at Holy Family School. I was a cheerleader for the basketball team he played on, great times back then and lots of happiness. My family lost our father and brother within seven months of each other so I understand what you're going through and I'm deeply sorry. Saying prayers for all.
