Tribute & Message From The Family

Dorothy Jeanne (Lane) Morrison, 85 of Abington. Died on November 30, 2018 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was born on November 16, 1933 in Dedham to the late James F. and Ina A. (Haskell) Lane. Dorothy was raised and educated in Dedham and was a graduate of Dedham High School.

Dot spent her years working as a bank teller. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. You could often find her with a book in her hand or doing the daily crossword puzzle. Other things she loved to do were watching musicals and the occasional scratch ticket. Dot was loved by everyone. You could not differentiate between family and friends.

Dorothy was the loving mother of David T. Morrison of Rockland, Debra J. Laythe of Abington, Neal J. Morrison of Holbrook, Curt C. Morrison of Lexington and the late Edward J. Morrison Jr. and Scott A. Morrison. She was the sister of Marjorie E. Shepherd of Dedham, James M. Lane of CT, the late Charles J. Lane, Donald E. Lane, Shirley A. Pedigo, Irene F. Rangel and John "Jack" R. Lane. She will be dearly missed by her seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Dorothy also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A private burial service will be held at a later date at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Abington.

Condolence & Memory Journal

It is with deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mother. She was a beautiful, caring, loving person who I will truly miss. When we would get together for lunch or dinner, we would always hold hands. She was such a kind woman who always had a great sense of humor. I always got a kick out of her on St. Patrick's Day at the Bank, she would always dress up in her "green". She was a dear friend and she will be greatly missed. I love the photo of her here, it is such a great picture of her. May your memories of your Mom comfort you at this time.
