Tribute & Message From The Family

Helen O'Neil died last Wednesday January 9, 2019 at St. Patrick's Manor in Framingham Mass of complications from late life illness. For 93 years she enjoyed a full, active, and happy life shared with family and many friends. She outlived all of her siblingsā€¦ Eugene O'Neil, John O'Neil, Joseph O'Neil, Alice Carew, Catherine Curley, and Marie Doucette.

Her family grew up in Somerville, Mass in the Irish neighborhood that surrounded Bartlett St, where many friendships and memories were created. Helen spent much of her life in Rockland, Mass at Leisurewoods Park and was very active in activities there and with the Rockland Senior Center, where she made many friends. She worked for years at the Boston Pops, and for many years as a bookkeeper for the Wursthaus in Cambridge and at Wearguard in Norwell. Her passions were golf and bowling which she gave up only eight months before her death, cooking for family and friends, nights out at good restaurants, the Patriots and Red Sox, good jokes, and a good Manhattan. She was a determined and outgoing person with a wonderful sense of humor who fought for a full life to the end despite the illnesses she lived with. She leaves a legacy of love and inspiration with all who knew her.

"Auntie" Helen is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, many grandnieces and nephews, and several great grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday January 14, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA.
