Ellen (Comer) Hutchinson of North Weymouth passed away on January 24, 2019. She was the wife of the late Thomas R. Hutchinson.

Ellen was born in Dunmore, Co. Galway Ireland in 1924 to Thomas and Catherine Comer. She had nine brothers and sisters, Margaret, Katie, Bridget, Michael, Matthew, Mary, Thomas, James and Patrick. Ellen came to America in 1944. Prior to moving to Weymouth in 2001 Ellen lived in Rockland and Jamaica Plain.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Ellen Fitzgerald and her husband Bill of Weymouth, Gerard Hutchinson of Weymouth, Mary Hutchinson of Florence, Tom Hutchinson and his wife Kim of Plymouth. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Katie, Amy, Ryan, Shannon and Kate and (little) Ryan. Ellen also had 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ellen had a special place in her heart for her two nephews, Fr. Jim Shaughnessy S.J. and Billy Minihan both of Boston who she loved spending time with.

Ellen was a professional cook and worked in facilities in Boston and in nursing facilities on the South Shore. She also worked for Holy Family Rectory for many years. She was proud of her Irish heritage and was a member of the Irish Social Club and Irish Cultural Center. She volunteered at the Weymouth Senior Center in Weymouth. Ellen's love of cooking led to weekly Wednesday night dinners for family to drop in and visit. She loved the 4th of July and was proud of her American Citizenship. She will be forever remembered for her kindness, compassion and generosity.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Ellen's life on Sunday January 27, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday January 28, 2019 at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
