Tribute & Message From The Family

Elizabeth "Betty" Crawford (Mahoney), 80, of Rockland of, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 19, 2019. Born in Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Cornelius Mahoney. She was the devoted wife of David R. Crawford Jr for 61 years and a loving mother, nannie, sister, and friend.

Betty enjoyed camping with her family and taking cruises and casino trips with her husband, sisters, and friends. She took pleasure in the outdoors, spending many hours working in her yard and feeding the wildlife, but her greatest joy was her family.

In addition to David, Betty is survived by 5 children; Mark Crawford and his wife, Patti, of Rockland, Scott Crawford and his wife, Joanne, of Rockland, Gary Crawford and his wife, Amy, of Kingston, Kevin Crawford and his wife, Terri, of Myrtle Beach, SC and Heather Crawford of Vancouver, WA. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Per Betty's wishes a private visitation will be held for family and relatives. Her ashes will be spread in Plymouth Harbor at a later date so she can spend eternity among the whales in the sea.

Betty was steadfast in supporting her husband in his fight with Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Massachusetts, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452

Condolence & Memory Journal

Dave,Mark, Scott, Gary, Kevin & Heather,
So sad to hear the news that Betty passed away. As another neighbor mentioned, we too have such good memories of Betty as our families grew up together and thrived in that little corner of Rockland. We are glad that the family has given us something that we can do, to be able to make a donation to the Alzheimer' s Association. In the meantime, please find comfort in knowing that others care and are thinking about you at this difficult time.
