Rockland, Massachusetts | Age 84
Rev. Donald T. Isaac of Rockland, MA, entered eternal life after a long illness on Friday, April 14, 2017. He was born in Brockton, MA on December 10, 1932 to Melville T. Isaac and Doris (Ernest) Isaac.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia, in July 2016. Her loss left him heart-broken – they are now together again as he wished. He leaves behind three loving daughters and their husbands - Cheryl Murphy (Robert) of Newton, Diana Johnson (Jay) of Duxbury, and Deborah Blair (Andrew) of Gaithersburg, MD. He was the younger brother of Claire Stahl of Michigan and the older brother of the late Janet Crain (Dight). He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren.
Don graduated from Stetson (Randolph) High School in 1950 and then Boston University in 1954. Answering the call of God, he attended Berkeley Divinity School at Yale University and received his Master of Divinity. Don was the beloved minister of Trinity Episcopal Church, Rockland, for 16 years. While there he received his Master of Psychology degree from BU and became a full-time family and marriage counselor in 1976. He continued to be involved in the church and diocese, being named Vicar Emeritus in 1997.
Don enjoyed playing guitar and singing with the Three Dons and friend Jody, supporting the Rockland Food Pantry, and helping others in need. He always made people feel special and put them at ease with his friendly, engaging conversation.
Don's family would like to invite family and friends to join them as they celebrate his life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street, Rockland on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Friday April 21 2017 at Trinity Episcopal Church Church in Rockland.
