Obituary

Patricia A Strobis (O'Keefe), 80, currently from Rockland, MA passed away peacefully on November 2, 2020 just three days shy of her 81st birthday.
Pat was born to Charles and Katherine O'Keefe on November 6th, 1939 in South Boston, Massachusetts.

Being Charlie and Kay's first child and only daughter, she was the light of her father's eye. Growing up in South Boston as a child she enjoyed roller skating, dancing and playing with her yoyo. She attended St. Augustine's Grammar School and St. Augustine's High School graduating in 1957. After graduating, she went to work at a local retail shop on Broadway. One night while attending the Broadway Theater with her friend Franny, she met a local boy by the name of Daniel Strobis. They were married on May 28th, 1959 at St. Augustine's Church. Together they began to build their life as one surrounded by a neighborhood of family and friends.

In March of 1960, they welcomed their first child, a daughter, they named Diane. The following year in June of 1961, they welcomed their second daughter Debra (Debbie). As their family grew the need for a bigger home became apparent. They purchased their first home on Bowen Street just a few doors down from her parent's home. Pat found herself pregnant again! In September of 1962, she delivered daughter #3 naming her Darlene. Their fourth and last child, yet another daughter, Donna was born in November of 1963. Their home and hearts were full.

Pat was all about family and spending time together. Summer trips to Benson's Wild Animal Farm, vacations out of state and to Canada in the wagon, yearly dance recitals, many school events, holiday gatherings, weddings and funerals. Life was about family and being there for one another in good times and in bad. Pat loved being with her friends. Being up country (as our Dad would say) camping at Pine Acres, taking trips, attending holiday parties, or playing bingo, she would meet friends wherever she went. As she aged, her grandchildren became her greatest joy. Caring for her babies and spending time watching them grow, Pat always had a story to tell or picture to share. She was one proud Nana to Stephanie, Christina, Jonathan, Melissa, Danielle and Steven and could never get enough cuddles from her six great-grandchildren.

She lived a full life surrounded by love. Our mom would always say…IT'S ALL ABOUT FAMILY! Taking care of each other, being there for one another, loving each other, that's what family is all about. And that besides her unconditional love for all of us is what she would want to be remembered for. Thank You for supporting her and us. With love, Diane, Debbie, Darlene and Donna (Her Girls)

Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Daniel P. Strobis. She is survived by her daughters Diane Lyons of Rockland, Debra Lindsay of Canton, Darlene Strobis and fiancée Tom Clouthier of Bremerton, WA and Donna Solomon and her husband Craig Solomon of Middleboro. Sister of Dennis O'Keefe and the late Charles O'Keefe, Jr., Kenneth O'Keefe, and Robert O'Keefe. Survived by six grandchildren, Stephanie, Christina, Jonathan, Melissa, Danielle and Steven and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, you can make a tribute donation to the Massachusetts Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
