Obituary for Thomas E. Barron,, Jr.

June 13, 1957 - December 30, 2017
Massachusetts | Age 60

Thomas E. Barron, Jr. 60 of Hanson, died at his home on December 30, 2017 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Tom was born in Boston, son of the late Thomas E. and Mary T. (Early) Barron, Sr. He was raised and educated in Hanover and was a 1976 graduate of Hanover High School where he played soccer, basketball and baseball. It was during his tenure at Hanover High when he fell in love with his high school sweetheart and wife of 37 years, Jeanne M. (Foster) Barron.

Tom and Jeanne loved being together, they marveled at their many trips to Maine and New Hampshire as well as finding great joy in day trips to Martha's Vineyard, Rockport and Castle Island. His family remembers his pure joy in stopping into Sullivan's on Castle Island where he would enjoy many hot dogs.

He had been employed at New England Coffee Co. in Malden for 30 years as a driver and later a supervisor before his retirement ten years ago due to a serious back injury.

An avid sports fan, Tom also enjoyed gardening and Civil War history. His biggest passion in life was his family and he and Jeanne were overjoyed at the arrival of their granddaughter Kinsley Rae Barron just four short months ago. The best way to describe Tom Barron would be to say, "He enjoyed life's simple pleasures!"

In addition to his wife Jeanne and granddaughter Kinsley, he is survived by his three sons, Tyler J. Barron, Patrick T. Barron and his wife Kristina, and Zachery F. Barron all of Hanson. He was the brother of Patti Crawford and her husband Mark of Rockland, Lisa Silveira and her husband Tim of Royalston as well as the late Noreen Malone. He was the brother-in-law of Robert and Paul Foster of Hanover and the God Father of Ryan Crawford. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews as well as scores of friends, neighbors and co-workers.

The family invites all to celebrate his life at a Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover MA on Saturday January 6, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Hanover Center Cemetery. Calling hours in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland will be on Friday January 5, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
