Frank M. Schnabel, 65 of Rockland died at his home on March 5, 2013. He was born in Boston, son of the late Frank T. and Anna (McHugh) Schnabel and was raised and educated in Hingham. He graduated from Northeastern University College of Business Administration and later received his certification in computer language at the same institution.
Mr. Schnabel had been employed in sales and purchasing at Kauffman Corporation, Pannier Corporation and Star Sales Co. As well he was the founder and proprietor of the Lanphier-Yates Co. for manufacturer representatives. Most recently, in semi retirement, he worked with the American Greeting Corporation.
Frank had been active in the Town of Rockland serving for many years on the Finance Committee and he was a member of the Rockland Jay-Cees. He volunteered his time as a youth soccer coach. An avid antique tool collector, he also loved hiking as well as travelling in Europe and across this country.
He is survived by his wife Margaret K. "Molly" (Kelly) Schnabel, his sons, Matthew Y. Schnabel of Dorchester and Ethan L. Schnabel and his wife Jennifer of Whitman. He was the proud grandfather of Anna E. and Allie N. Schnabel and the brother of Paul K. Schnabel of MO., and Karen Potischman of Mansfield, MA.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. Rockland. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 9:00 AM in Holy Family Church. Cremation will follow.
